You’ve re-written your resume maybe a dozen times. Have you caught and corrected one of the most common resume mistakes?
Most resumes waffle – they don’t take a stand. They say “I’ve done this and that, in industries X, Y and Z.” That’s where they stop. A resume needs to show how you are perfectly equipped to perform the job you’re seeking.
The last thing we want to do is serve up our experience and our strengths to a hiring manager, to say “Here’s a bunch of stuff I’ve done already – you decide what I’m good for, now.”
We need to take the opposite approach! Our resume’s job is to market us for the position we’ve targeted.

Liz, I was trying to hear your pod cast on 'Put a Point on the Arrow on Your Resume' but the volume seems to be messed up somehow. You can barely make out what you're saying even at the very loudest setting. I hear another of your podcasts just few minutes ago just fine so I think it may just be this one. Thanks! Denyse
